Helen Lee’s Eponymous Debut @ SFW, Jing An District
Helen Lee presented her eponymous collection on Sunday night at 800Show to Shanghai’s fashion elite, such as this beautiful young lady (my friend Hart from shanghaistylefile.com also noticed her):
The young Chinese designer is known quite well for her INSH collection, but that’s a bit more commercial than what she’s been wanting to do… She seems to have very stylish clientele, so why not launch a higher-end collection after the success of INSH?
The looks from the show were fine (not my favorite, to be honest), but I did love the hair and makeup (the hair wrapped under the chin, in case you can’t see… sorry, I was in the second row). I also liked the volume of this particular look (it was mostly pretty flat):
She also presented nice and comfy looking menswear:
The womenswear also had that cushy/fluffy vibe:
Overall, Mrs. Lee should be proud of this first presentation, but of course there’s always room for improvement. It’s a step in a more risky direction, and I really hope it pays off for her! I’ll continue to update you all on any developments 😉
