Decoster SS15 at Shanghai Fashion Week, Xin Tian Di
Decoster has always been one of my favorite local brands, probably because it has had the time and the design team to cultivate a real brand. There is certainly an established aesthetic, which is simultaneously youthful and mature, but this season they seemed to really push the envelope. I know that their design team is made up of five designers, but you could have probably seen it just from the collection itself… Although there is certainly a thread that runs through the collections and holds them all together under the Decoster name, I couldn’t help but notice the strikingly different mini-collections in the overall presentation. The menswear looked totally different from the womenswear, but I guess on how it all gets merchandised when it hits the stores. It will certainly have something for everyone, but it didn’t appear as cohesive as other collections this year… That being said, previous years were a bit too monotone, so I’m glad Decoster is mixing it up a bit. I’m sure that they will soon strike a balance.
