Vmajor FW15 at Fashion Now, Beijing
Vmajor is certainly one of the most buzzed about brands in China right now, especially after recently winning the Woolmark prize… But that seems to have not distracted them in the least. If anything, they seemed to be even more focused this season, turning out retro yet modern looks that were all generally quite strong (which is impressive in China, where many young designers generally do more than they need to… I always want to take out around 10% of the collection).
Anyway, the music was upbeat and the overall feeling very free, and reminded me of the fun side of fashion. They like to try new shapes and mix contrasting materials, so I always look forward to seeing the overall looks… The shoes, although not pictured that well, were splattered with paint or covered in feathers and looked cool yet carefree. The color palette was popped but wasn’t in-your-face, and I think this cult classic could become some sort of a new classic in China.
