Deep Moss FW15 at Shanghai Fashion Week, Xin Tian Di
I’ve been following Deep Moss for a few seasons now. It’s one of those more “organic” brands (as its name would have you think) with flowing, natural materials in muted, earthy palettes. This season seemed to be a bit more “decorative” though… The pictures are probably the worst I took given the low lighting, so you may not be able to see what I’m talking about, but there’s a decent video at the bottom so you can get the gist of it.
Anyway, there were some very strong pieces and interesting ideas, but overall I felt like it lacked something. I didn’t see the commercial value of this particular collection, and know that the designer is fully capable of being commercial in a good way… I think a lot of young designers are still finding themselves amongst the many many ideas in their heads. I know Deep Moss has a point of view, I just think this collection was slightly more digression than evolution.
