Three Society FW15 at Shanghai Fashion Week, Xin Tian Di

This was the strongest collection I’ve seen from Three Society… It was much more cohesive, which is definitely because there are now fewer cooks in the kitchen (there used to be three designers, and now it is just one). But I’m glad the brand didn’t fall apart… It actually got stronger through its challenges, demonstrating that the designer George can weather any storm. He’s the one that stuck it out, and now he’s reached the top of the mountain. Well, maybe not THE mountain, but A mountain for sure. He hasn’t peaked, but he gave us a glimpse of his potential.

I really enjoyed the leather accessories and the clean cuts. There was less “surface” design (the brand is known for its preppy, but clever, embroidery), and more of a focus on the structure of the clothing. I also really liked the contrast of textures, and he showed that his pieces could really be dressed up or down, made more formal or casual. I think he will reach a large audience with this collection and can’t wait to see how he progresses next season.
